Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Strong diagonal lines give a sense of drama, and using a macro lens at an angle results in a shallow depth of field, so that the painting appears three dimensional. For example, the blue paint on the left appears to float above the orange paint, but is in fact painted directly on to the orange. The bright colors of scumbled paint were mainly about me having some fun.
